BGB detains seven from border

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel of 58 battalion have detained seven Bangladeshi nationals including two women when they had entered into Bangladesh territory without valid documents. They were detained by the Khosalpur BOP men at about 10 AM on Friday.

BGB 58 battalion assistant director Qamrul Hasan said the seven entered Bangladesh territory through Khosalpur bordering area. The BOP men of the camp had picked up them from Chhagolermor area in the upazila.

The detained have claimed that they left Bangladesh about five months back in search of jobs there. But they could not manage suitable jobs and the law enforcers and local people had been warning them to leave the country as they did not have any papers to stay there. The detained were handed over to Moheshpur police station under the passport act, BGB man said.

Mention may be made that at least 300 Bangladeshi nationals came back to Bangladesh from neighboring India when the law enforcing agency men and some of the political leaders had been threatening them to go back to their own homes as they could not produce any valid paper infavour of their stay there.

Further, they were sent to police station as they even were not bearing any documents with themselves as Bangladeshi nationals.
