BGB detains 1 in Moheshpur border for intrusion

Border guard Bangladesh personnel (BGB) in Matila under 58 Battalion at Moheshpur of Jhenaidah have detained another Bangladeshi national when he was returning from neighboring India illegally. The detained was identified as Rakib Hossain, 25, Yusuf Boyati of Gushalkandi village in Rajoir upazila of Madaripur.

The number of detained was 29 with the newly arrested in a week.

BGB 58 battalion assistant director Nazrul Islam Khan quoting his battalion director Qamrul Ahsan said the Matila border outpost (BOP) personnel having information arrested Rakib Hossain from the field at Matila at 10 am on Sunday when he had entered in to Bangladesh territory without any valid documents. The BGB had also filed a case with Moheshpur police station in this connection.

Mention may be made here the BGB personnel in Moheshpur had detained another 28 Bangladeshi nationals and a Bangladeshi broker on May 10 from the same area. They had entered in to Bangladesh territory illegally after traveling in neighboring India for a few months, they clamed. The arrested were sent to compulsory quarantine in a Jhenaidah shelter home for safety.
