BGB conducts programmes marking Victory Day

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has celebrated the great Victory Day-2021 on the golden jubilee of independence with great enthusiasm and due dignity.

On this occasion, detailed programmes were observed in all regions, institutions, sectors and units including BGB headquarters. 

According to the program of the day, the national flag was hoisted at 08:10 am at all other units including the BGB headquarters. BGB Director General Major General Md Safinul Islam was present on the occasion. At 08:45 in the morning, the BGB Director General paid homage to the heroic martyrs of the great liberation war and laid a wreath at the ‘Simanto Gourab’ at Pilkhana. 

A well-equipped BGB team paid homage to the martyrs and awarded the Guard of Honor. Besides, special prayers were offered in all the mosques of Peelkhana and in all the mosques of all the units for the forgiveness of the souls of the heroic martyrs of the great liberation war, peace, prosperity and progress of the nation and the progressive progress and unity of the BGB.

Other activities of the day include illumination of important buildings / installations and gates of BGB headquarters and installation and gates of all BGB units across the country.

In addition, banquets were organized at all BGB units across the country and Liberation War based film screenings were organized for BGB members and their families and students of BGB schools and colleges.

In the afternoon, BGB players played musical instruments in Suhrawardy Udyan area. A joint BGB-BSF retreat was held at Benapole-Petrapole, Akhaura-Agartala and Banglabandha Phulbari border in the afternoon with the aim of expanding brotherhood between Bangladesh and India as well as enhancing the existing friendly relations and trust between the border guards of the two countries.

On the occasion of 'Golden Jubilee of Victory and Mujib Year', the BGB Director General at Pilkhana, all BGB officers at the headquarters, junior officers, BGB members of other ranks and non-military officers-employees from all Region, Institution, Sector, Battalion and BOP level officers, junior officers, BGB members of other ranks and civilian officers-employees participated spontaneously. 

This oath of the golden jubilee of independence and the year of Mujib will give more inspiration to every member of BGB in the future. By taking this oath, every member of the BGB under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina renewed his commitment to build the Bangladesh of Bangabandhu's dream.
