As in previous years, the annual BFF-Samakal Science Debate took place at the Notunkuri Cantonment High School auditorium in Khagrachari, with eight schools participating in a lively and competitive event. Alongside the young debaters, enthusiastic students and teachers also attended in large numbers.
The panel of moderators and judges included Associate Professor Zahirul Islam of Khagrachari Government Women’s College, Assistant Head Teacher Rafiqul Islam of Matiranga Gomoti BK High School, Head Teacher Saifuddin Ansari of Khagrachari Islamia High School, and journalist Chingmepru Marma.
The programme opened with a welcome speech by Samakal’s local correspondent, Pradip Chowdhury.
Participating schools included Khagrachari Government High School, Khagrachari Police Lines High School, Notunkuri Cantonment High School, Baitush Sharaf Madrasa, TUFA Ideal High School, Islamia Senior Madrasa, and APBn High School.
In the final round, Notunkuri Cantonment High School emerged as champion, with TUFA Ideal High School as the runner-up. The title of Best Debater was awarded to Moni Kornika Khisa from Notunkuri. Khagrachari Police Lines High School secured third place.
At the closing ceremony, crests and certificates were presented to the winners by Advocate Jasim Uddin Majumder, President of the District Anti-Corruption Committee, and Dulal Hossain, President of Khagrachari Debating Forum.
