Victory Day, a day that shines bright with the memories of the glorious triumph of a nation that stood strong, is not just a something that text books tell children, it is also a time when the Bangladeshi brotherhood unites together to share the sentiment of freedom that was achieved after long nine-months of fighting. However, in this time and day, there are still forces that are collaborating to become thorns on the path towards development.
Communalism is brewing in people’s minds, instigated by the very forces that tried to stop the creation of Bangladesh all those years ago, but we as a nation with rich culture and heritage won’t be dismissed and succumb to the tactics of anti-secular forces. It is at this time that we look to the Prime Minister who has led us forward for so many years and achieved advances that were mere pipe dreams.

Let us look back at the magnificent personalities who are now world known and are considered to be lights of this nation who have illuminated the country during the early days. Whether it be Rabindranath or Shah Paran we have so many rich histories that we should be proud of. And none of them had any history of communalism. Above all, when we look at the greatest Bengali of ages Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman we can be proud to have such great forefathers before us.
This country belongs to all of us regardless of religion or creed, so says the constitution. Let us adhere to it and live by the rules of society and human beings rather than squabbling amongst each other because of provocations from unscrupulous parties.
