Prizes and medals were awarded to the best contestants in the National Primary Education Medal Selection -2023 at the divisional level in Sylhet. Divisional Commissioner Abu Ahmad Siddiqui presented the award and certificate to the winners as the chief guest on Monday at the auditorium of NDC Sylhet Primary Teachers’ Training Institute.
This award is given to the best, teachers, schools, individuals, institutions, officials and employees in 18 categories for making special contributions to the quality and development of education, including responsibility towards the profession, new innovative thinking, prevention of student dropout, learning environment and cultural practices. Sylhet Deputy Director of Primary Education and Additional Divisional Commissioner (Revenue) spoke as the special guest at the prize distribution ceremony under the chairmanship of Md Jalal Uddin.
Divisional Commissioner Abu Ahmad Siddiqui, NDC said, “Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman knew that primary education is the treasury of the nation. Bangabandhu had nationalised primary education in 1973 because he realized that development of the nation is not possible without education.
Today's students are Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's tool for making Smart Bangladesh 2041.
In the event, the best headmaster, headmistress, assistant teacher, school management committee, staff from among the departmental level competitors; Best Assistant Upazila Education Officer, URC Instructor, Instructor PTI, Upazila Education Officer, PTI, PTI Superintendent, District Primary Education Officer, Best Upazila Executive Officer, Upazila Parishad Chairman and District Administrator were selected.
