The popular Bangladeshi drama series "Best Friend" is making a comeback with a new sequel , "Best Friend 2.0," reuniting the acclaimed trio of Farhan Ahmed Jovan, Mehazabien Chowdhury, and Probir Roy Chowdhury. Known for their strong on-screen camaraderie, the actors first collaborated on the original "Best Friend" series in 2018. This production quickly gained popularity, and its success led to a trilogy that resonated deeply with audiences. Following a significant hiatus, CMV Productions officially announced the trio’s return on November 7, generating excitement among fans.

Mehazabien, who had shifted her focus to films in recent years, expressed her anticipation for the reunion, reflecting on the journey with Probir and Jovan. "It’s been a long time since we worked together as a trio," she noted. "The original drama became popular not only for its storyline but also for its song, 'Obhijog.' We hope to capture that same connection with the audience again." Director Probir Roy Chowdhury shared insights into the fresh direction for "Best Friend 2.0," stating, "We spent years searching for the right storyline, and now we’re ready to bring something new. This project will not continue the previous storyline but will present an entirely original narrative."

The shooting will take place in two phases, with the initial sessions scheduled for December and the next in January. The project is set to release on Valentine’s Day 2025, with early predictions hinting that it could become one of Bangladesh’s highest-budget drama productions for the upcoming year. Producer Sheikh Shahed Ali Pappu highlighted the importance of this reunion for fans, saying that their return promises to capture hearts anew.
