Bangladeshi romantic comedy Bengali Beauty has completed its second week as the first Bangla language film to be screened in China. The film renamed “Jinse de Manjala” in China, premiered in the country on May 3rd. The Chinese title means "Golden Bengal" and the film has managed to win over the hearts of Chinese audiences.
After a successful first week in theatres, the film’s screening frequency was increased in its second week and has been extended to a third week in the country. It is currently being shown across 700 screens in China.
Bengali Beauty received the largest international theatrical release of any Bengali film in history. Previously it was released in the United States as well as in the United Kingdom. The film directed by Rahsaan Noor stars Rahsaan Noor and Mumtaheena Toya in the lead roles. It was released in Bangladesh on 12 October, 2018.
