The National Board of Revenue (NBR) at Benapole Customs House has set a revenue collection target of Tk 6,244 crore for goods imported from India in the current fiscal year 2020-21. More than 215 crore 66 lakh taka has been set for revenue collection target from the last fiscal year.
Benapole Customs House sources said, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) at Benapole Customs House had set a revenue target of Tk 6,028 crore 34 lakh in the last 2019-20 fiscal year. At the end of the financial year only 2 thousand 636 crore and 63 lakh taka was collected.
The deficit was 3 thousand 392 crore and22 lakh taka. At that time the amount of goods imported from India were 11 lakh 78 thousand and 628 metric tonnes.
