Customs officials of Benapole Port have seized a consignment of 23 rolls of fabric imported from India with false declaration on Sunday. The consignment was seized from Shed No. 22 of Benapole Port on Sunday night.
The accused importers have claimed that the product is not theirs. The importer of the consignment is Spectra Solar Park Limited. Manifest number of the consignment is 26536 AH (23).
According to Benapole port sources, the Indian truck carrying the fabric entered Benapole port last night.
Rakib Hossain, a representative of C&F Agent Royal Royal C&F Pvt. Ltd, unloaded the truck to the Shed No. 22 in the port.
The products mentioned in the documents founded fake after examination by port authorities and later it was seized.
Touhidur Rahman, proprietor of Royal C&F Pvt. Ltd., a representative of the importer, said that a group used their name in the invoice of imported product. They do not know about the incident.
Benapole Customs House Additional Commissioner Dr Niyamul Islam confirmed the seizure of the goods and said that necessary steps would be taken after investigation.
