‘Belgium wants to be a dev partner of Bangladesh in heavy industry’

Initiated by Chattogram Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CMCCI) Director WRI Mahmud Russel, an economic mission delegation led by Didier Vanderhasselt, Ambassador of Belgium to Bangladesh, met the members of the Board of Directors of CMCCI and businessmen in a courtesy meeting.

 CMCCI leaders greeted the Belgian delegation at the Chattogram Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CMCCI) auditorium with crest and flowers on Thursday evening.

 CMCCI Vice President AM Mahbub Chowdhury presided over the meeting.

 BSRM Group Strategy and Projects DGM Monir Hossain, Maruf Patwar, Eskander, Shahidul Alam, Tajuddin, Jamal Uddin and Noor Nabi Ripon spoke on the occasion.  The speakers discussed various business matters of interest between Bangladesh and Belgium.

  The CMCCI leaders urged the Belgian ambassador to be more proactive in the country's steel sector, manpower export, blue-economy, fisheries, spices, leather products, ready-made garments exports.

  Ambassadors and members of economic mission delegations to Bangladesh expressed interest in high quality power generating solar systems, water treatment plants for purification from river or pond water, heavy machinery for port dredging, ICD/logistics container handling machinery, medical equipment, agricultural machinery and other heavy sectors.  .

 CMCCI Director M Abdul Awal, Professor Jahangir Chowdhury, M Solaiman FCMA and WRI Mahmud Russell along with CMCCI members, prominent businessmen, business representatives, journalists were present.
