BD-US joint military ‘Exercise Tiger Lightning-2024’ ends

The joint exercise between Bangladesh Army and US Pacific Army Command (USARPAC) titled ‘Exercise Tiger Lightning (TL)-2024’ formally concluded at Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT) in Rajendrapur Cantonment on Thursday.

The Chief of General Staff of the Bangladesh Army, Lt Gen Waker-Uz-Zaman, was present as the chief guest and announced the successful completion of the exercise.

In his speech at the closing ceremony, the chief guest said, “Besides making an effective contribution to the establishment of world peace, the Bangladesh Army is working unitedly with friendly countries to ensure regional peace and stability. The United States Army is one of our closest allies in this initiative.”

He expressed hope that Exercise Tiger Lightning will play a strong role in increasing mutual understanding between the two countries' armies and will help expand the area of cooperation in the future. 

As a special guest Lt Col Joshua Long of the USARPAC, said “The contribution and continuous success of the Bangladesh Armed Forces in the United Nations peacekeeping mission is truly commendable. We were impressed by the quality of training and professionalism of Bangladesh Army personnel in this exercise.”

Also, Commandant BIPSOT Major General Md Nasim Parvez gave welcome address at the closing ceremony.
