Bangladesh Science and Industry Laboratory (BCSIR), Chittagong Laboratory's 'Science and Industry-Technology Fair' has started for three days in BCSIR premises.
Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Shirin Akhter inaugurated the fair on Thursday morning as the chief guest. Noakhali University of Science and Technology Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdul Baki was present as a special guest. BCSIR Director of Chittagong Laboratory Dr. Mohammad Mostafa presided over the function.
CU Vice-Chancellor said that a country prosperous in knowledge-research, science and technology, this country will be more developed. Modern technology based industrialization is very important in the country to meet the challenges of the 4th Industrial Revolution. In order to reduce the dependence on foreigners in the management of this industry, it is very important to turn the young society of the country into a modern science-minded skilled manpower. The BCSIR fair will make the youth of the country interested in modern technology and industry and will play an important role in the industrialization of the country.
BCSIR Chittagong Laboratory Scientific Officer Md. Al Zahid and Amena Kibria conducted over the occasion. Senior Scientific Officer Dr. Saiful Islam addressed the inaugural function.
A memorandum of honour was presented to the CU Vice-Chancellor at the meeting. The Vice-Chancellor along with the guests toured the various materials invented by the young scientists and exchanged greetings.
