Former general secretary of Cox's Bazar Government College unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Sakhawat Hossain's limbs have been amputated.

During this time Sakhawat was also severely beaten. He was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

Cox's Bazar district BCL president Ishtiaq Ahmed Joy claimed that a group of cadres led by Shibir leader Tarique Aziz had carried out the incident in the area adjacent to the college on Thursday night.

He said Sakhawat's house is in the area adjacent to the college. Shibir leader Tareq Aziz is accused in several cases, including the blast case. One of the plaintiffs is Sakhawat himself.

The attack was carried out to test the strength of the camp by capitalizing on the opportunity to change the chariot of the police.

Without any reason, he was picked up from the front of the house, cut  his limbs and fled after being severely beaten.

Offocer-in-Charge of Cox's Bazar Sadar Police Station Masum Khan said efforts were being made to arrest those involved in the incident.
