The 72th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Chhatra League has been celebrated in Faridpur amid grand activities. National and Chhatra League flags were hoisted at the Awami League's party office on Saturday morning.
Later, a colorful rally from the front of the party office, led by District Chhatra League President Nisan Mahmood alias Shamim and General Secretary Md. Saiful Islam ended at Faridpur Press Club premises after circling the main roads of the city. Several thousand BCL members took part in the rally. Later the party leaders celebrated the birthday by cutting a huge cake.
Among others District Awami League President Ad. Subal Chandra Saha, City Awami League President Nazmul Islam Khandaker Levi, Kotwali Awami League President and Upazila Chairman Abdur Razzak Molla spoke at the event.
The speakers said that the Bangladesh Chhatra League has passed 71 years of glory, tradition, struggle and success. In the days ahead, with this continuity of glory, they want to bring all together to make a prosperous Bangladesh.
