Bangladesh Coast Guard Personnel on Saturday morning rescued 03 fishermen from boat sinking in Dublar Char area in Bay of Bengal.
This information was given by Lieutenant Commander Abdur Rahman, Media Officer of Bangladesh Coast Guard Headquarters at noon on Saturday.
Lt Commander Abdur Rahman said that more than one boat sank due to hostile weather in the south of Dublachar at around 5:00 am on Saturday morning.
As soon as the news was received, Bangladesh Coast Guard Outpost Dublar Char conducted a rescue operation in the area with a search and rescue team. Later, 03 fishermen were rescued alive from the area by the Coast Guard.
The rescued fishermen were brought to the BCG outpost and under the supervision of the Coast Guard, they were provided with food and first aid and the owner of the boat was contacted. Facilities oto contact with their families were also provided. Names of rescued fishermen are Abdullah, Raju Sheikh and Yakub Ali.
He added that the Coast Guard had contacted the local forest office, including the boat owners' association, to find out if there were any more fishing boats missing in the incident, and that rescue operations by the Coast Guard were still ongoing.
