Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) revelaed the major outcomes from BPL Governing Council Meeting on Player Payments and Revenue Distribution from 11th Edition of BPL T20 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) cricket on Tuesday.

According to the BCB press release, the Governing Council of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) convened today (Tuesday) to address several significant matters concerning the 11th edition of the BPL T20. A central focus of the meeting was the issue of outstanding payments owed to both local and international players who were part of the players’ draft.

Following a comprehensive review of financial statements and supporting payment documentation submitted by participating franchises, the Governing Council has agreed in principle to allocate a portion of ticket sales revenue to franchises that have demonstrated compliance with player payment obligations.

This is the first time that the BCB will distribute revenue from ticket sales to BPL franchises. The disbursement, scheduled ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, will be conditional upon the verification of payment acknowledgments from the respective players.

Preliminary allocations are - BDT 55 lakh for each of the four teams that qualified for the playoffs and BDT 45 lakh for each of the remaining three participating teams.

The final disbursement amount for each franchise will be determined proportionally, based on the percentage of outstanding player payments they have cleared relative to their eligible share. In addition, the Governing Council has decided to pursue legal action against any franchise that continues to default on payment obligations despite repeated official notices. This decision reflects the BCB’s commitment to ensuring contractual accountability and maintaining the integrity of the league.
