The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has lifted the lid on the financial intricacies of the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), publishing a comprehensive breakdown of payments to franchises. The report details prize money, ticket revenue distribution, and outstanding dues, painting a varied financial picture for the participating teams.

Fortune Barishal, the reigning champions, stand out as the primary beneficiary, slated to receive their entire Taka 55 lakh share from ticket sales. However, the outlook is less favourable for several other franchises, with some even finding themselves in debt to the governing body.

Chattogram Kings, who finished as runners-up, were initially in line for a substantial Taka 2 crore 5 lakh from prize money and ticket profits. Yet, this figure has been significantly reduced due to various deductions. The BCB was compelled to settle the team's Taka 15 lakh hotel bill and an initial player salary payment amounting to Taka 87 lakh 75 thousand. Furthermore, the Kings still owe the BCB Taka 15 lakh in franchise fees and an additional Taka 52 lakh 36 thousand 500 in player salaries. After these considerable deductions, Chattogram Kings will ultimately receive a reduced sum of Taka 34 lakh 88 thousand 500.

Rangpur Riders are set to receive Taka 45 lakh. Although they were due Taka 95 lakh, the BCB has deducted Taka 50 lakh to cover outstanding franchise fees.

Both Sylhet Strikers and Durbar Rajshahi find themselves in an unfavourable position, owing money back to the BCB. Sylhet was expected to receive Taka 45 lakh from ticket sales.

However, they failed to settle Taka 15 lakh in franchise fees and Taka 29 lakh 50 thousand in player salaries. As a result, the Strikers now owe the board Taka 9 lakh 50 thousand.

Durbar Rajshahi had anticipated Taka 45 lakh from their share of ticket revenue. Nevertheless, with a significant Taka 54 lakh 90 thousand in outstanding player salaries, the board will instead receive Taka 9 lakh 90 thousand from the franchise.

Khulna Tigers were initially projected to receive a total of Taka 1 crore 15 lakh. Following deductions of Taka 25 lakh for franchise fees and Taka 48 lakh for player salaries, they will receive Taka 42 lakh.

Meanwhile, Dhaka Capitals have emerged with a balanced ledger, showing neither outstanding debt nor receivable amounts.

Their outstanding player salaries of Taka 45 lakh are precisely offset by the identical amount they were due from ticket sales.
