Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA) conducted an eviction drive to remove the illegal structures on Jamuna Bridge site in Bhuapur upazila of Tangail on Sunday.
The drive was conducted in Jamuna Setu Purba Pathailkandi Bazar in the upazila on Sunday morning.
It was learnt that the local people kept the bridge site in Pathailkandi Bazar area occupied for a long time by setting up various kinds of shops. Severe traffic jam occurs in the area because of that. So the Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA) conducted this eviction drive to solve the traffic jam problem.
Executive Engineer of Jamuna Bridge project, Ahsanul Kabir Pavel, said eviction drive to remove the illegal structures is ongoing. As a part of this, the illegal establishments in Jamuna Setu Bazar area were evicted.
