Food aid was given to 3,000 families of Bashundhara group on Tuesday, in front of the central office of Bashundhara Foundation in Durgarampur village of Bancharampur upazila of Brahmanbaria district. The activity was executed by maintaining social distance and hygiene protocols.
Each packet that was provided contained 10 kg of rice, 3 kg of pulses and 3 kg of flour. This was organized by Kaler Kantho Shubhasangha. Babu Tapan Chandra Sutradhar, President of Bancharampur Upazila Shubhsangha presided over the distribution of food items and Syeda Shamsad Begum, Upazila Executive Officer was present as the chief guest.
The chief guest Syeda Shamsad Begum said in her speech that Bashundhara Group is far ahead in human service and she has seen the real picture right in front of her. Due to the pandemic, the distribution of food among the dire and poor is one of the greatest human qualities.
“In newspapers, I read that that Bashundhara is going with this food aid all over Bangladesh. I wish the Bashundhara Group well and I hope that this donation will continue,” she said.
At the end of the discussion, the chief guest Syeda Shamsad Begum distributed food items among the unemployed persons present.
Bancharampur Upazila Kaler Kantha representative and head of the accounting department of Bancharampur Government College Md. Chan Mia Sarkar was in charge of conducting the program.
When asked, a beneficiary Rahisha Begum (65) happily received a packet of food items and said, "No one else gives me such a big bag of food. I pray for their welfare.
Necha from Dilbar (50), a man with a broken arm, received the food aid with gratitude. He said, “I broke my arm and had nothing to eat. Bashundhara has given a lot of food. May God bless them.”
Day laborer Rabban Mia (60) said that he does not give any money due to the pandemic. “I have not eaten and finally Bashundhara has given us food. I will pray to Allah with both hands for Bashundhara.”
All these activities have been conducted by members of Kaler Kantha Shubhsangha of Bancharampur Upazila and Bashundhara Foundation of Bancharampur.
Among others, Sultana Maryam, General Secretary of Shubhsangha of Bancharampur Upazila and Lecturer of English Department of Bancharampur Government College were present. Bancharampur Sobhania Islamia Fazil Madrasa Principal Maulana Ruhul Amin Abdullah, former chairman of Bancharampur Sadar Union, Hazrat Ali, Bashundhara Group BGM Maimun Kabir, Bashundhara Group Deputy Chief Engineer, Shafiqul Islam, Bashundhara Foundation Manager, Mosharraf Hossain, senior officer, Jamal Uddin, Md. Anwar Hossain Anwar, Md. Shahjahan were also present.
