Bangladeshi student organisation provide humanitarian aid to Palestinians

‘Chobighor’, a non-profit student organization of Savar, on the outskirts of the capital, provided humanitarian assistance directly to the Palestinians, following the ongoing war crisis in Palestine. 

Prince Ghosh, Founding President of the organization confirmed the matter to The Bangladesh Post. “We have sent Tk 20 thousand for 20 Palestinian families in the first phase, and our effort to assist them in future will remain to continue”, Prince said.

Ratul Ghosh, a member of the organization said that they are assisting Palestinian directly with the cooperation of a local Palestinian, namely Mohammad Rally, who currently stays in the Gaza Strip, and basically, he himself now operating the assistance activities there on behalf of Chobighor.

Prince said, “Several Bangladeshi organizations started to assist Palestinians by the Palestinian Embassy of Dhaka when this crisis begin after Israel attacked Gaza Strip recently, since then we were trying to assist Palestinians but in a different way. We were trying to assist them directly, however, we failed in the first phase, but afterward we succeeded to communicate with a local resident to reach Palestinian people directly.”

“We finally handed over taka 20 thousand to Mohammad Rally, a Palestinian, on Sunday midnight local times of Bangladesh and he himself distributed the assistance among 20 Palestinian families on behalf of Chobighor on Monday, and the Palestinian people expressed their gratitude to the Bangladeshis for standing by them.”

Prince said, adding that, Israel and Palestine both were though announced ceasefire, but people of devastated Gaza now suffering an extreme financial crisis, therefore we have taken an initiative to assists more 100 Palestinian families as soon as possible.
