In a significant recognition of cinematic excellence, the Bangladeshi film "Dear Satyajit" has been chosen to participate in the esteemed 5th Nepal International Cultural Film Festival (NIFF). The feature film category will witness intense competition as "Dear Satyajit" vies for the prestigious Best International Feature Film Award alongside five other distinguished entries.

The lineup includes a diverse array of international productions: "Gift of Fear" (US), "The Dark Girl" (Germany), "Highway 15" (Mexico), "Cage Between Two Battle" (Turkey), and "Cake" (India). This vibrant showcase of global cinema promises to captivate audiences and celebrate the richness of storytelling from around the world.

Directed and written by Proshoon Rahmaan, "Dear Satyajit" stands as a heartfelt homage to the legendary Bengali filmmaker Satyajit Ray, commemorating his birth centenary. Rahmaan's deep reverence for cinema is palpable in every frame, as the film embarks on a profound exploration of human experiences through the art of storytelling.

Expressing his sentiments about the festival, Rahmaan remarked, "For me, the festival is not merely a gathering of enthusiasts, but a rendezvous of kindred spirits, united by our shared passion for storytelling in its purest form." He emphasized the significance of such events in fostering connections, exchanging ideas, and celebrating the magic of cinema.

"Dear Satyajit" transcends its status as a mere film; it is a poignant journey that resonates with audiences on a profound level. The late veteran actor Ahmed Rubel, who portrayed the lead character, was slated to attend the festival alongside Rahmaan but tragically passed away last February. His absence is deeply felt, yet his legacy lives on through his remarkable performance.

As the Nepal International Cultural Film Festival prepares to unfold from March 29 to March 31 in Kathmandu, Nepal, cinephiles and industry insiders alike eagerly anticipate the unveiling of cinematic gems and the celebration of artistic ingenuity. "Dear Satyajit" promises to leave an indelible mark on audiences, reaffirming the enduring power of storytelling to connect hearts and minds across borders.
