Additional DIG of Chattogram Range of Bangladesh Police Md Zakir Hossain said, “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is the father of the greatest nation of all time.  In just 55 years of his life, he had bound the land and the people of this country with a deep love.  In response to Bangabandhu's call in 1971, the nation's best son, the heroic freedom fighters, gave up the illusion of life and took part in the great liberation war, so we got an independent state called Bangladesh”.

“If he had not been born, this country would never have been independent.  Those who did not seek the independence of this country killed the father of the nation and his family on August 15, 1975.  Through this incident, one of the most heinous and scandalous chapters in the history of the Bengali nation was added.  Today, his worthy daughter is a role model for the development of the country under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.  Everyone must come forward to build the golden Bengal of the dream of the father of the nation by transforming mourning into strength”, he added.

The Addl DIG made this comment while speaking as the chief guest at the fourth day of the food distribution programme organized by Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Chattogram Metropolitan Unit Command at River View Community Center adjacent to Karnafhuli Upazila Parishad on the occasion of 46th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day.

Mahanagar Muktijoddha Sangsad has taken a program to distribute cooked food among 1000 indigent and helpless people in different places every day for 5 days from Wednesday 11th August to Sunday 15th August on the occasion of National Mourning Day.

Additional DIG said Bangabandhu was the only leader who was able to unite the entire Bengali nation.  The conspiracy did not stop after the infernal massacre of 1975.  We have to find out who was behind the assassination of Bangabandhu and bring him under the law. Bangabandhu's ideals and objectives must be kept in mind to implement the spirit of the great liberation war.

District Superintendent of Police (SP) SM Rashidul Haque PPM said there is no end to the knowledge about Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.  He was a very visionary leader.  The dead Mujib is stronger than the living Mujib.  The person who has left for the freedom of the country and the people of this country for the rest of his life has been the victim of the most brutal murder in his family.  Those who killed Bangabandhu are distorting history today.  The heroic freedom fighters have to survive to convey the true history of the great liberation war to the new generation.  It is important to identify the murderers and perverts of the Father of the Nation and bring them under the law.

The meeting was chaired by Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Chattogram Metropolitan Unit Commander Bir Muktijoddha Mozaffar Ahmed and conducted by Assistant Commander Bir Muktijoddha Sadhan Chandra Biswas. Special guests were Chattogram District Superintendent of Police (SP) SM Rashidul Haque, Chattogram Press Club General Secretary Md Farid Uddin Chowdhury, Patiya Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Tariq Rahman.

Deputy Commander of Mahanagar Muktijoddha Sangsad Bir Muktijoddha Shahidul Haque Chowdhury Syed, Assistant Commander of District Muktijoddha Sangsad Bir Muktijoddha Abdur Razzak, Commander Bir Muktijoddha MN Islam, Patiya Thana Commander Bir Muktijoddha Sangsad Mohammad Mohiuddin, Prominent Businessmen Md Sarwar Alam Chowdhury Moni, Inspector (Investigation) of Patiya Police Station spoke on the occasion.
