Bangladesh National Women football team are looking forward to blank their Malaysian counterparts by 2-0 in the two-match FIFA friendly series when they will play the second and last match today.
The match will take place at the Bir Sreshtha Mostafa Kamal Stadium, Komlapur at 6 pm, private television channel T-Sports will live telecast the match.
Bangladesh women team, who suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Malaysian team five year back in Singapore in a tree-nation international invitational tournament, just outplayed them (Malaysia) with inflicting a defeat by half a dozen goals on Thursday.
Both the hosts Bangladesh team and Malaysia had their last warm up and practice session yesterday at the match venue when they expressed their targets with today’s match.
Bangladesh will play with expecting to win the match to clinch the series by 2-0 and for Malaysia it would be a do or die encounter to save the series with winning the match.
Malaysia are 61 times ahead of Bangladesh in the (Women’s) FIFA ranking but the hosts demonstrating one-sided game just demolished the visitors.
Considering the performances of the first match of both the teams, Bangladesh team are favorites but before playing the first match Malaysia women were s favorites in black and white but the performances on the field, the visitors could reflect their authority in accordance with their FIFA ranking.
Meanwhile, both coach and the captain of Bangladesh Golam Rabbani Choton and Sabina Khatun told the media that there is no scope to take Malaysia lightly.
“Malaysia are very strong side, they have ability to bounce back, so there is no question about to take them lightly. So we will have to concentrate to our performance and will try to maintain the game we played in the first match,” Told Sabina.
Golam Rabbani Choton, told the Bangladesh Post on Friday, “Girls will have given their 100 percent to carry on their first match success and will have to utilize the chances will come to their ways, then we could be hopeful to win the match and as well as the series.”
