‘Bangladesh wants to be a role model in social harmony’

Khandkar Yasir Arefin, Deputy Commissioner of Nilphamari said - We want to be a role model in the world in terms of social harmony. We have a reputation as a country of social harmony. 

Brother to brother, sister to sister, parent to son, friend to friend, familial, socially apart from our grandson, his grandson, generation after generation we will strive to be unbreakable social bonds. And if someone tries to disrupt this social harmony, it is harmful to society, nation and country. 

All those people cannot be anyone's friend. He also urged everyone not to listen to rumours. He also said - the big festival of Hindus is ahead, Sharadiya Durga Puja. 

He also called for everyone to celebrate the festival shoulder to shoulder in harmony. He said this while addressing the chief guest at a social harmony rally at Ronchandi Union on Thursday afternoon. 

Union level social harmony rally was held at Ronchandi Union Parishad ground under the chairmanship of concerned UP Chairman Moklechur Rahman Biman. Upazila Parishad Chairman Shah Md Abul Kalam Bari Pilot, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Rabiul Islam Babu, Upazila Executive Officer Noor-e-Alam Siddiqui were special guests, Officer-in-charge Rajib Kumar Roy, Assistant Commissioner Bhumi Sanjida Rahman. 

Former Chairman of Ranchandi UP Kamini Kumar Roy, Teacher Hashem Ansari, Principal of Ranchandi School and College Mukul Hossain, President of Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Council Pratab Chandra Roy, President of Puja Celebration Committee Mr. Patiram Roy, Former Reserve Member of Zilla Parishad Fatima Begum spoke etc. 

All members of Ranchandi Union Parishad, members of Union Social Harmony Committee, dignitaries, teachers, presidents of Puja Mandab Committee etc. were present.
