The 3rd Military Dialogue between Bangladesh and Türkiye was held at the Multipurpose Hall of the Armed Forces Division in Dhaka Cantonment.
The three-day-long defense talks began on April 12 and ended on 14 April.
The ISPR in an official handout on Tuesday afternoon disclosed it to the media.
The Bangladesh delegation was led by Brigadier General Husain Muhammad Masihur Rahman, Director General of the Directorate of Operations and Plan of the Armed Forces Division and the Türkiye delegation was led by Air Brigadier General TanselÇokuysal.
Also representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense and senior officials from the Armed Forces were present. The Türkiye delegation consisting of four persons and the Military Attaché of the Embassy of Türkiye in Bangladesh also remained in the dialogue.
The purpose of this dialogue was to facilitate a broad discussion on military cooperation as a complement to the said dialogue. Military cooperation between Bangladesh and Türkiye is warm and intense. It is clear that the Türkiye will continue to support the Bangladesh Armed Forces in military development and training. Every year, many members of the Bangladesh Armed Forces are trained at various institutions in Türkiye. The two countries' armed forces have been working together in the UN peacekeeping mission and the war on terror.
Exchange of military visits of senior officials between the two countries is another feature of military cooperation.
This dialogue will enhance the defense and military cooperation in the areas of global and regional security, technology, defense equipment, disaster management, peacekeeping operations, training, visits, joint exercises and deployments workshops,said ISPR.
It is mentionable that the 1st dialogue between Bangladesh and Turkey was held on 05-06 July 2015 in Dhaka and 2nd dialogue was held on 21-23 March 2022 in Türkiye. In this context, a three-day military dialogue was organized.
