Bangladesh trounce Bhutan

It was the day for Bangladesh women, when following the women cricketers’ big win against Thailand in the Asia Cup Cricket in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh national women footballers also had a big win against Butan in a FIFA Friendly match in Thumpu on Wednesday.     

However, Riding on hat-trick from Sagorika Bangladesh national women football team trounced Bhutan by 5-1 after coming from a goal down in the first FIFA Friendly tier one match on Wednesday.

Held at the Chenglimithan Stadium, Thimpu after a frustrated 0-1 in the opening 45 minutes Bangladesh booters got back strongly to score five goals to down the home side. 

The defending SAFF Championship winners Bangladesh women had to struggle much in the first half due to playing undisciplined game when plenty of miss passes spoiled most of their attacks before to get successful finish. 

The Women in Red and Green conceded the goal at early hour when Prema Choden Tshering scored against the run of the game to lead Bhutan on 13th minute. Prema taking the a mistake of defenders found the advancing Bangladesh keeper one and one situation did not make any mistake to sent the ball into open net (1-0). 

After trailing by 0-1 one Bangladesh despite taking the control of the game played almost one side-game failed to score any goal in the first half when they also gave missing trial for several occasions.

However, trailing by a 0-1 Bangladesh made a fresh start in the second half and did not take time to open the floodgate when Sagorika nodded the equaliser on 49 minutes of the second half.

Bangladesh scored three goals inside 10 minutes when following Sagoriak’s equalier, Sabina Khatun and Ritu Parna added one each in a span of two minutes on 53rd and 55th minute.

Sagorika doubled her tally on 76th minute when she completed her hat-trick and close the sheet on the first minute of injury period 5-1).      

Bangladesh women went Bhutan to play two FIFA matches, to tuneup for next SAFF Championship to take place in October in Nepal. 

Bangladesh could win the match with bigger margin but strikers failed to scores despite having the Bhutan goalkeeper one on one situation.
