Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud MP said that Bangladesh has made remarkable progress in the political, economic, and social arenas regarding women's empowerment under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He said, “Within the next 10 years, Bangladesh will set an example in women's empowerment, including at the grassroots level.”

The minister said these words at a day-long seminar held on Wednesday at Dhaka University's Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, organized by the Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Centre for Gender and Development Studies.

“To make a moral-based new generation, women need to be empowered intellectually and economically. Apart from this, they need to be made skilled in technology,” he added.

Dhaka University's vice chancellor, Professor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal, presided over the seminar, while foreign minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud MP was presented as the chief guest.

Apart from these, High Commissioner of Bangladesh in the United Kingdom, Saida Muna Tasneem, and Dhaka University's Social Sciences faculty's dean, Professor Dr. Zia Rahman, were presented as the guests of honor.

Nasim Ferdous, the president of Bangladesh Alliances for Women Leadership, delivered the key note essay, while Professor Dr. Tania Haque, director of the Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Centre for Gender and Development Studies, delivered the welcome speech.
