Chairman of Bangladesh Press Council Justice Momtaz Uddin Ahmed said, “Bangladesh is progressing quickly and becoming a developed country under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”
He made the remark at a virtual meeting on book distribution programme from his Dhaka’s Segunbagicha office while Press Council officials got connected to Netrakona Press Club through a video conference with local journalists on Tuesday.
Advocate Abdul Hannan Ranjan, Vice president of Netrakona Press Club, presided over the meeting.
The meeting was addressed by senior journalist Haider Jahan Chowdhury, senior journalist and Press Club Secretary Babu Shymolendu Paul, former secretary of press club Advocate Habibur Rahman and others.
Justice Momtaz Uddin Ahmed called upon the local journalists to widely write against drug abuses, corruption and irregularities of government offices and dishonest officials, misappropriated govt. money, terrorism and militancy to ensure peace and security in the society.
It is notable that Bangladesh Press Council has donated a good number of books especially books on Bangabandhu, Liberation war and books related to press.
