Md Hasnat Zaman Sayqut, Meherpur
Bangladesh Post Friends Club has started its journey in Meherpur. The convening committee and the advisory committee of Bangladesh Post Friends Club Meherpur were announced at a meeting at Meherpur College on Saturday.
Chairman of Meherpur Zila Parishad Alhaz Md Golam Rasul was present at the meeting as chief guest with District Correspondent of Bangladesh Post Md. Hasnat Zaman Sayqut in the chair. General Secretary of Meherpur Press Club Md. Alamin Hossain and journalist and researcher Ataur Rahman were present as special guests.
Md. Hasnat Zaman Sayqut delivered welcome speech at the meeting. In his speech, he said that Bangladesh Post has been doing various social development activities besides publishing news. Following this, Bangladesh Post Friends Club is forming a Social organization to promote social and cultural development among the young people of the country. The organization will work to create leadership qualities among young people.
Md. Hasnat Zaman said that discussions will be held with members of the organization on various social issues and possibilities, including cultural development among the youths, through various cultural and linguistic competitions at the national level. Besides, various initiatives will be taken by the organization to make young society interested in English. The organization has been inaugurated in Meherpur for first time in country and its operations will be conducted nationally later.
Alhaz Md. Golam Rasul said that making this organization is undoubtedly a good initiative of Bangladesh Post. “I hope that Bangladesh Post Friends Club will carry forward the development activities of the government nationwide through such good work,” he said.
During this time, the convener and advisory committee of Bangladesh Post Friends Club Meherpur was announced by the chief guest. The seven-member convening committee was announced with Md Shakirul Islam as the convener and Jalal Sheikh as joint convener. The other committee members are Sajjad Hossain as Member Secretary, Ehsanul Momin Lakhin, Khaled Hassan, Habibur Rahman and Mst Asma Akhter Anika as members.
The advisory committee members are Assistant Professor of Meherpur Government College Md. Abdullah Al Amin (Dhumketu), Lecturers of the college Sanjida Ferdous and Md. Moniruzzaman, journalist and researcher Md. Ataur Rahman.
Mithila Farzana Rekha, Sajjad Hossain, Habibur Rahman, Md. Asma Akhter Anika, Jannatul Ferdous, Md. Sourav, Md. Jyoti Khatun, Reshma Akhter Konika, Sadia Khatun, Tasnim Hussain Sifat were also present at the meeting.
