Bangladesh on way to final in IHF

Bangladesh youth handball team on it's way to thefinal of four-nation Bangabandhu IHF Challenge Trophy Women's (U-17)thrashing their Nepalese counterpart by 50-4 goals in their second match held on Sunday at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium inthe city.

The winners' dominated the first period of play as they took a healthy 24-2goals lead at the first half.

It was the second successive victory for the hosts after crushing theMaldives by 48-10 goals in their tournament opening match.

However, Bangladesh's final spot will be confirmed if tournament favoriteIndia able to beat the Maldives in the day's afternoon match.

Despite getting a big win, the coach of Bangladesh team, Dalia Aktar,expressed some regret. She said: "We won by a margin of many goals, but ifthe opponent were tough, I could handle myself a little better."

Explaining the reason, she said as our next match is against mighty India andthey play world class handball, so it would have been better for us if we hadstronger opponent.

Commenting about Dipa Rani, who played a major role behind the Bangladesh'scrushing victory, the Bangladesh coach lauded her performance by saying thatDipal consistently well like last match and she has done remarkably well inevery position wherever she has been given to play.
