It is indeed a matter of great pleasure that Bangladesh has ranked the second most favourite Asian country in supplying global online workers.

A story headlined “Bangladesh most favourite for global outsourcing” appeared in Bangladesh Post on Tuesday quoting Asian Development Bank’s  report that says the top three Asian countries that provide online workers — India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan—comprise 52 percent of the global online workforce.

And the country’s online outsourcing income is now holding the second position, just behind  India.

The ADB report styled the Asian Economic Integration Report 2021: Making Digital Platforms Work for Asia and the Pacific also shows the Internet has created a global market for digitally delivered freelance work, which is currently growing rapidly. The top occupational category in the United States is writing and translation, while in the Indian subcontinent it is software development and technology.

We want to be developed as an international role model for online outsourcing training to create dexterous manpower for the freelancing job market.

In this regard, the country's people, especially the youths will have to be given more training in order to make them worthy and to increase earnings from online outsourcing.

We firmly believe that it is now becoming a big opportunity for the young people to build an independent and a sustainable profession in online outsourcing.

The earnings of these professionals will immensely benefit the country, which has recently become eligible to elevate to ‘Developing Country’ status of United Nations.

As the online outsourcing income is attracting the educated youths, the number of unemployed in our country will be reduced soon.

From 2017 to 2020, the share of workers in creative and multimedia has increased by 34 percent in Bangladesh, the ADB report says, adding that to date, it accounts for around 59 percent of Bangladesh’s online workforce.

In this regard, the government will have to support our young people in order to achieve required competency so that we top in supplying global online workers in coming days.
