Bangladesh national football team suffered defeat to Sudan by 0-3 in their second practice match at Al Taif Indoor Stadium, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) on Thursday.

Sudan team, FIFA ranked 127 are more powerful and stronger than Bangladesh, who drew the first practice match against the African sides.

Though the team lost to Sudan, Bangladesh Coach Javier Cabrera is satisfied with the performances of his boys and had some positive thing in the team.

The Spanish Coach said, “We played a competitive match against Sudan. Players tried their level best. Physically Sudan are very tough and also Palestine are the same. So, the experiences of two practice match against Sudan would be important and vital for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Championship 2027 qualifiers against Palestine in Kuwait, which will take place on March 21.”

Bangladesh played a goalless draw against Sudan in their first practice match at the same venue on Sunday last. It was the second practice match against the FIFA 127th-ranked team before led by Jamal Bhuiyan the team will travel to Kuwait on March 17 to play the away match against Palestine.

The main target of the national team is to perform well and have success against Palestine. It is a very good sign for the national team.

Javier Cabrera said, “We came to Al Taif City 12 days ago. Booters began their practice from the first day. It has been very positive, as I saw in the first match. It was an important day, not because of the result, which wasn't the priority in any case, but because of how much we evolved after coming to Saudi Arabia in the last seven days, and it was a very positive performance.”

“Some 24 players had the opportunity to play the match, and everyone performed well,” said the coach.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh started the qualifying mission with a 0-7 defeat in an away match to Australia before restricting Lebanon to a 1-1 draw at home last year.

Men in red and green are at the bottom of the group with 1 point. Palestine also secured one point from two matches. Lebanon has two points, while Australia leads with six from two outings.
