The Bangladesh-India Maitree Express, Bandhan Express and Mitali Express trains will remain closed for nine days from today on the occasion of Eid.
The Bangladesh Railway confirmed that the three inter-country will suspend operations in order to prevent schedule disruption during the upcoming Eid-Ul-Adha.
The Maitree Express will be closed from June 14 to June 22, the Bandhan Express from June 14 to June 20 and Mitali Express from June 12 to till June 21.
Meanwhile, from 12:00pm on 14 June, all other goods trains, except container and fuel oil trains, will be closed until 6:00pm on the second day of Eid.
No intercity city trains will run during Eid.
Import-export through Sonamasjid land port to remain closed for 8-dayImport-export activities through Sonamasjid Land Port would remain closed for eight days on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Azha.
However, the Immigration Department would remain open and the travelers carrying passports would be able to travel as usual.
President of Sonamasjid Importer-Exporter Group Kazi Md. Shahabuddin confirmed, saying the import and export activities through the port would remain closed from June 15 to June 20 and it would resume on June 22.
Two Fridays - June 14 and June 21 would be included into the closure.
