Bangladesh-India joint army team starts bicycle rally

On the occasion of the golden jubilee of independence 2021, a joint team of India-Bangladesh Army jointly started its journey to Bangladesh through Benapole International Check-post on Sunday afternoon with a bicycle rally.

Brigadier General Md Hafizur Rahman of 55th Infantry Division of Jashore Cantonment greeted the 19-member Indian cycling team at Benapole No mans land with flowers.

A joint army bicycle rally was organized to strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries.

Major Zakaria of the 55th Infantry Division said, A team of 19 members of Indian Army has entered Bangladesh through Benapole International Checkpost. The Indian Army was led by Colonel Mohit Singh of the Kolkata Cantonment .

Colonel Mohtachin Haider Chowdhury of 55 Infantry Division on behalf of Bangladesh was present the Celebration.

This bicycle rally will end by visiting Jashore Cantonment, Jhenaidah, Kushtia, Jibannagar.

On 19 November, another 19-member cycling team of the Bangladesh Army will enter India through the Darshana Border with a cycle rally.

Indo-Bangladesh Army members participating in the bicycle rally will visit places commemorating the liberation war of the two countries. They will also talk to the local people who remember the memory of the liberation war. The army team cycled from Benapole to Jashore cantonment on Sunday.

The Indian Army team will return to the country through Darshana land port on November 19 after cycling around different districts of the country.
