Bangladesh envoy to India visits Darshana Land Port

Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Muhammad Imran inspected the activities of Darshana Land Port in Chuadanga.

Chuadanga Deputy Commissioner Nazrul Islam Sarkar and Superintendent of Police Zahidul Islam greeted him when he arrived in the zero line of the border on Wednesday. 

Afterwards, greetings were extended by Darshana Customs Authority, Port Implementation Committee, Chuadanga Chamber of Commerce and Darshana Press Club. He then toured all the activities of Darshana Bandar. He then held an exchange of views with the district administration, port implementation committee, chamber of commerce and stakeholders at the BGB International Conference Center at Darshana Port.

Bangladeshi High Commissioner to India Muhammad Imran said, "I am monitoring the condition of the land ports." The two countries have good relations at the highest leadership level. I have heard of businessmen here who want to implement land ports. I will sit down with the governments of both the countries by preparing a comprehensive report.

Also present at the exchange meeting were High Commissioner to Kolkata Tawfiq Hasan, First Secretary of the Calcutta High Commission Shamsul Arif, Councilor of the New Delhi High Commission Shahed Azim, Chuadanga Deputy Commissioner Nazrul Islam Sarkar, Director of BGB-6 Battalion Lt. Col. , Chuadanga-6 BGB Deputy Director Major Nistar Ahmed, Damur­huda Upazila Nirbahi Officer Dilara Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Darshana Customs Station Mohammad Shafayat Hossain, President of Chua­danga Chamber of Commerce Yakub Hossain Malik and others.

Land port activities are underway with a visit to Chuadanga and a visit to India. Goods are imported and exported by rail through this port. Passengers with passports travel by road. Now the high level leaders of the two countries are working to start import and export by road through this land port.
