Bangladesh beat Pakistan in warm-up match

Bangladesh women beat Pakistan by five runs in the second warm-up T-20 match at Brisbane Australia, report agencies.

Bangladesh women played their last warm-up game before the main World cup events. Their first warm-up match was washed out against Thailand.

Salma Khatun Captain of Bangladesh won the toss in Brisbane and decided to bat first.

Bangladesh posted a respectable 111-8 with opener Murshida Khatun making highest 43 runs off 38 balls with the help of six boundaries. Fargana Haque (21), Ritu Moni (14 not out) and Nigar Sultana (13) were the other significant run-getters.

In reply, Pakistan also lost early wickets. Controlled bowling from two experienced bowlers Jahanara and Salma made their batsmen struggle for runs.

Pakistan kept losing wickets at regular intervals. They needed 10 runs in the last over to win. At the end of the 19th over Pakistan were 102/8.

Jahanara Alam only gave away four runs and took two wickets as Bangladesh secured a victory of five runs. Star opener Javeria Khan was their highest scorer with 41.
