Bangladesh Army foils terrorist attack on UN convoy in Mali

Bangladesh Army has foiled a terrorist attack on a logistic convoy of the United Nations (UN) in Mali recently.

While working in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Mali on Saturday Bangladesh Army carried out a successful operation against local terrorists.

Talking to Bangladesh Post on Sunday, a concerned army official from the Army Headquarters confirmed it. According to the army officer, a contingent of Bangladesh Army was escorting a logistic convoy of the UN in Gao province of Mali While discharging their duties, a group of local terrorists suddenly attacked the convoy.

In response to the attack, Bangladesh Army’s contingent retaliated against the attackers to save the UN logistic convey.

The terrorists had to flee in the face of Bangladesh Army’s resistance. Bangladesh Army has been appreciated in the all quarters for their heroic acts. No causalities were reported from the side of Bangladesh Army’s peacekeepers or UN convoy due to the strategic and heroic operations of the Bangladeshi army contingent in Mali, said the army officer.
