Bangla Natya holds cultural boating activities on Padma

A Bangladesh Gram Theatre cultural travel through boats organised by Bangla Natya was held at the river Padma in Rajshahi on Saturday. 

The travelling through boats started from the bank of the river at Bot-tola of Alupatty of the city in the morning and after travelling some 20-kilometre, it reached beside the river Boral under Charghat upazila around 12-00 noon.

Headed by Freedom fighter Nasir Uddin Yousuf, President of Bangladesh Gram Theatre, more than 200 cultural activists participated in this trip in 15 colourful, decorated boats. Leaders and cultural activists of Chargat Gram Theatre headed by Ekhlakh Hossain welcomed the team members at Charghat when a rally was held from the Ila Mitra stage of Charghat Padma Boral theatre. After parading various roads, the rally ended in a discussion meeting and a cultural function at the Hall room of Charghat upazila. 

The function was addressed, among others, by President and the Gen Secy of Bangladesh Gram Theatre Nasir Uddin Yousuf Bachchu, and Youfqiue Hasan Moyna respectively. Professor of Drama and Dramatics of Jahangirnagar University Lutfar Rahman, Charghat Upazila Parishad Chairman Fakhrul Islam, UNO Sohrab Hossain and Municipality Mayor Ekramul Haque. 

Nasir Uddin Yousuf said Bangladesh Gram Theatre has been working countrywide to retain tradition and culture of Bengal from more than the last four-decade. The aim of BGT is to strengthen and retain the thousand-year old non-communal cultural consciousness of the Bangalees. 

A one minute silence was observed following the discussion in the memory of departed souls of Presidium Member of BGT and Folk Researcher Kazi Sayed Hossain Dulal and the founder member of Charghat Padma Boral  Theatre Mozammel Haque and the member Azmal Haque. 

A cultural function including the Gombhira song by 'Mathal Rajshahi', Alkap Humour by Gram Theatre, a drama entitled Abar Asbo Firey designed by Mother and Nilmoni drama designed over Monsa 

Mongal were served at the end of the function.
