‘Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park to be upgraded to int’l standard’

Environment, Forests and Climate Change Minister M Shahab Uddin on Saturday said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park, named after the Father of the Nation at Dulahazara in Cox’s Bazar, will be upgraded to international standard.

He directed the authorities concerned to take necessary steps to turn Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park into an international standard park.

He said this while inspecting the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park development project (Phase II), said a press release.

The minister said that all the animals in the safari park should be provided with good quality of food, accommodation and overall security.

“Appropriate measures should also be taken to ensure the safety of the tourists visiting the safari park,” said the minister.

He assured of providing minibuses for the convenience of tourists to visit the safari park.

Earlier, the minister visited Medhakchupia National Park and exchanged views with the forest rangers.

Zafar Alam, MP, Secretary of the ministry Ziaul Hasan, Chief Conservator of Forests M Amir Hossain Chowdhury, Conservator of Forests of Chittagong Region Mohammad Abdul Awal Sarkar, among others, were present.
