The golden jubilee of the conferment of the Joliot-Curie Peace Medal to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was celebrated on Tuesday at Chittagong University and Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET).
CU VC Professor Dr. Shireen Akhtar spoke on the occasion on CU campus. CU Pro VC Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Benu Kumar Dey spoke as a special guest.
Prof. Dr. Abdullah Al Faruq, Dean of CU Faculty of Law spoke as the main speaker. CU Registrar (Acting) KM Noor Ahmad presided over the program and CU Proctor Dr. Mohammad Nurul Azim Sikdar presided over the event.
At the end of the discussion, CU Vice-Chancellor along with all the university family paid tribute by placing wreaths on the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Senate and Syndicate members of Chattogram University, deans of various faculties, officers and employees were present in the event.
On the other hand, the 50-year anniversary was celebrated at CUET. CUET Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam was the chief guest at the meeting organized at the Academic Council room of the University on Tuesday.
