Bangabandhu Parishad protests sculpture vandalism

The leaders and activists of the Islamic University unit of Bangabandhu Parishad staged a demonstration on Monday demanding immediate punishment of the miscreants who vandalized the sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Over 200 teachers, officers of the wing formed protest rally in front of the  ‘Mrittunjoyee Mojib' near the university main entrance area in the morning. 

IU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Sheikh Abdus Salam was present here as chief guest and pro-vice chancellor Prof Dr attended as special guest with Prof Dr M Mahbubur Rahman, president of IU BP unit, in the chair.

SA Malekh, central secretary general of Bangabandhu Parishad, Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique, former vice chancellor of Dhaka University spoke out at the protest rally over phone while IU BP unit secretary Prof Dr Mahbubul Arfin conducted the programme.

IU Bangabandhu Parishad  vice president Prof Dr Jahangir Hossain, Prof Dr Anwar Hossain, Prof Dr Alamgir Hossain Bhuyan, joint secretary Mir Morshedur Rahman attended the rally, among others'.

While addressing the speakers urged that  the government should ensure exemplary punishment to the the attackers against  the vandals  as early as possible.
