‘Bangabandhu liberated country to establish rights’

Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) AJM Nasir Uddin has said that those who cannot pay homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, they can’t deserve the rights to be a citizen of this country.

He said this while speaking at a rally before a mourning procession in the port city on Thursday. Chattogram Nagarik Uddyag organised the event on the occasion of the National Mourning Day-2019 and the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin led the mourning procession. 

Convener of the organisation and vice president of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Riaz Haider Chowdhury chaired the event. President of Professional Coordinating Council Prof Dr AQM Sirajul Islam, Prof Hasina Zakaria Bela, Vice-President of Bangladesh Teachers Association Abu Taher Chowdhury Babu, Acting Principal of Chattogram Mahila College Shaheen Ferdousi, Chattogram Press Club’s General Secretary Chowdhury Farid, General Secretary of Chattogram District Art Academy Saiful Alam, BMA member Dr. Hossain Ahmed, Young Engineers Forum’s President and Chattogram WASA Board member Engineer Rajiv Barua, ward councilor Tarek Solomon Selim, SM Ershad Ullah, former councilor Jamal Hossain and other spoke at the event.

AJM Nasir Uddin said that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman did not want geographical independence only, he also wanted the liberation of the unhappy people of Bengal. But the killers killed him before the complete freedom. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is now working to complete unfulfilled task of Bangabandhu, he added. 

The Mayor called upon all to come forward to cooperate Sheikh Hasina’s government to fulfill the dreams of Bangabandhu.
