Bangabandhu Hi-Tech Park creating job opportunities in Rajshahi

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hi-Tech Park has created an opportunity for the employment of local people in the industrially backward Rajshahi. 

The Bangabandhu Hi-Tech Park is being constructed at the west side of the city.  Two sections of the park are: 'Sheikh Kamal IT Incubation and Training Centre'. The construction of this part has already been finished and the other is 'Sajib Wazed Joy Silicon Tower', nearly 75 per cent of works of this project have also been finished. 

It is learnt, following the demand of Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, the project of Bangabandhu Hi-Tech Park was approved by ECNEC in 2016. Later, the construction work of the Hi-tech Park starts on 31.63 acres of land at a cost of Taka 281 crore 19 lakh at Bulanpur area of the city on July-18, 2o17. 

A huge enthusiasm has been created among young people of Rajshahi following the start of functioning of the Sheikh Kamal IT Incubation and Training Centre. Getting a proper environment of work, many people are now engaged in work at this section of the park. 

In this connection, MP Fazley Hossain Badsha said, he raised demands for the construction of the Hi-tech  Park in Rajshahi in the Parliament several times. And, now it was a reality. He further informed, the space allocation for the Hi-tech Park has already been started and steps have been taken to start activities of the Hi-tech Park in the full swing as soon as possible. He added, after a full-fledged operation of the Hi-tech Park, Rajshahi will gradually turn to be a city of technology. 

Sources informed space has already been allocated for 10 technology institutes in Sheikh Kamal IT Incubation and Training Centre. Of those six institutions have already started their operation where more than 200 workers have been provided.

Afroza Arabi Tushi has been working with Fleet Bangladesh IT Centre at Sheikh Kamal IT Incubation and Training Centre. Customer Service Executive Tushi informed, after completion of her post-graduation degree she was confused and reluctant to go to Dhaka for searching for any job. But, she was lucky to get a job in Rajshahi. She added the job environment at the IT park is also female-friendly. 

Mahfuzur Rahman, Chief Executive of Tech Rajshahi informed, a total of 142 workers have been employed at the office of which 28 are now posted in Rajshahi High-tech Park office. 

Tasnim Binte Shaokat, Assistant Professor of the Department of Electronics and Computer  Engi­neering of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology informed, meritorious students of the country are going abroad with jobs whereas we are hiring foreign experts to run our companies. The High-tech park will stop such ' brain-drain' and develop our country technologically.
