Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmad said “Bangabandhu is an inspiration for the exploited-deprived-liberation seeker people across the world. He has always spoken for the exploited and deprived people”.

He further said that the people of Bangladesh were freed from the shackles of subjugation as a result of his long movement struggle.

He made the remark while addressing a discussion meeting organized by the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment at Probashi Kalyan Bhaban on Sunday on the occasion of National Mourning Day 2021 and 46th Martyrdom Anniversary of the Father of the Nation.

The meeting was chaired by Ahmed Munirus Saleheen, secretary of the Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry.

The Minister said that the heinous and barbaric assassination of August 15, 1975, marked the beginning of a scandalous chapter in the history of Bangladesh. The assassins tried to destroy the dream of a happy and prosperous Shonar Bangla (Golden Bengal) through this, but could not succeed.

Ahmed Munirus Saleheen said “Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the great hero of the liberation war. He has given us some values. He will be truly remembered if these values are followed properly. He has shown us the dream of economic liberation. We all have to come forward to implement that dream”.

Director General of Wage Earners’ Welfare Board Md Hamidur Rahman, Director General of Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training (BMET) Md Shahidul Alam NDC, Managing Director of BOESL Md Billal Hossain and Managing Director of Expatriates’ Welfare Bank Md Zahidul Haque also spoke during the event.
