Maijchar Union Family Planning Center of Bajitpur Upazila of Kishoreganj was inaugurated in 2010. After running properly for a few years, there is no one in charge of it for eight years. As a result, the residents of this union are deprived of the desired services.
Meanwhile, the inner rooms are abandoned as there is no one in charge of the center. The deputy director of the district family planning office says that the desired services cannot be provided due to manpower crisis. However, the tender process for repairing the center is ongoing.
It has been found that Maijchar Union Family Planning Center of Bajitpur Upazila of Kishoreganj was built at a cost of about 90 lakh taka. The center was inaugurated in 2010. After providing services for a few years, the residents of the union are not getting the desired services for almost eight years. Since there is no one in charge of this institution for years, the internal items are in an abandoned condition.
Some people of the union said with anger, "The center has been abandoned for years. I have not received service since the inauguration. The residents of this union do not see anyone? What services do we deserve? Far from providing medical care, no one's face can be seen in this center. A family planning inspector comes to Kalebhadra. However, very few people know about him.
Ali Akbar, a member of Ward No 2 of Maijchar Union, said that although there are four posts in the center, one is working as a family welfare inspector. He is also collecting salary without regular service.
Kishoreganj District Family Planning Office Deputy Director SM Khairul Amin said, due to manpower crisis, the desired services are not being provided. The tender process for refurbishing the center is underway.
