BAF replaces contingents at DR Congo

Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) is going to replace its three contingents consisting 320 members at United Nations Peacekeeping Mission deployed in Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO), said ISPR As a part of this replacement 175 BAF members already left Dhaka for Congo on Wednesday by UN chartered aircraft. The rest contingent members will depart for Congo by turn.

These contingents of BAF are comprised of Utility Aviation Unit-17, Air Field Services Unit-17 and Air Transport Unit-10 led by Air Commodore Md Reza Emdad Khan, Group Captain Md Aminur Reza Ibne Abedin, and Wing Commander Abul Kashem Muhammed Faisal respectively.

It is mentionable that BAF has earned good reputation and glory by performing their duties in mitigating conflict with efficiency, professionalism and sincerity in DR Congo. Special Munajat was offered at departure lounge of the Hazrat Shahjahal International Airport (HSIA) seeking more excellence of the contingents. Senior BAF officers were present at the airport during departure.

Earlier, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat briefed the contingent members at BAF Base Bashar on 24th of November 2019 and offered special Munajat for the success of the mission. While briefing the contingents, he advised them to discharge their duties with honesty, professionalism and sincerity and bring honour for BAF as well as for the country.
