A delegation team of Bangladesh Air Force left Bangladesh for visiting Dimapur, a historical place of India on Tuesday on an invitation of Indian Air Force.

According to the ISPR, this delegation of 20 members is being led by Group Captain Tanveer Marjan.

This visit will be conducted to strengthen the existing bilateral cooperation and to enhance relation between the two air forces. It is mentionable that, BAF started its journey with the formation of Kilo Flight on 28 September 1971 at Dimapur in Nagaland of India.

The then government of India gifted one Dacota, one Otter and one Alouette-III Helicopter to be used by Kilo Flight for military air operation. During the Liberation War in 1971, Bengali officers and airmen who defected from Pakistan Air Force conducted numerous successful air operations from Dimapur. These air operations helped Bangladesh to expedite our path to victory.

This visit of BAF delegation will play an important role for fostering the relation between these two countries.

Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations) Air Vice Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan was present at Air Movement Flight, BAF Base Bangabandhu during departure.
