Dhallywood popular actress Azmeri Haque Badhan starrer 'Rehana Maryam Noor', directed by Abdullah Mohammad Saad has been selected and screened at the 37th edition of the Valencia International Film Festival (VIFF)–Cinema Jove.
The 37th Valencia International Film Festival Cinema Jove took place in Valencia from 24th June to 2nd of July 2022 which aims to promote young filmmakers. Cinema Jove is organised by the Valencian Institute of Culture – IVC, and it is accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).
According to a source the film 'Rehana Maryam Noor' was screened on July 1. The lead star of the film, Azmeri Haque Badhan attended the Spanish festival.
‘Rehana Maryam Noor’ has made new history for Bangladesh. It is the first Bangladeshi feature film to feature in the ‘Un Certain Regard’ section of the 74th Cannes International Film Festival. Immediately after the screening of the movie, everyone stood up and gave a standing ovation. It has also received three nominations at the Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest) and Malaysian Golden Global Award (MGGA), including a nomination in the "Best Film" category at the festival.
The actress bagged the 14th Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA), the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival (HKAFF). award, the 19th Telecine awards and Meril Prothom-alo Award 2021 for her outstanding performance in the film.
