Former Juba League leader Helal Akbar Chowdhury Babor has been appearing among the people sometimes with Iftar and sometimes with Seheri from the beginning of Ramadan in Chattogram city.
He distributed seheri among the people floating in the areas of Garibullah Shah Mazar, Badna Shah Mazar and Miskin Shah Mazar of Chattogram city like every night. These Seheri were distributed by ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury Foundation.
Helal Akbar Chowdhury Babor said that Ramadan is a blessing for Muslims. Looking at the Muslim countries of the world, including the Middle East, it is seen that when Ramadan comes, a kind of competition starts among their traders who can sell food items at a lower price than whom. Besides, during the month of Ramadan, they are busy feeding Iftar and Seheri to the people. But when Ramadan comes in our country, the price of food increases. The artificial food crisis in the market is created to make more profit.
He said Chattal Bir ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury was vocal against all this. During his tenure as mayor, he regularly monitored markets during Ramadan with city corporation magistrates. He would take action against unscrupulous traders. Besides, he used to feed Iftar and Seheri to thousands of people in Ramadan during his lifetime. We are trying to follow that path by learning from the life philosophy of Mohiuddin Chowdhury as a small worker.
